You guys…. this whole Month of Magic thing has been so awesome already… and we’re not even halfway through the month yet! 😱
So lately I’ve been getting a lot of questions from parents about when they should study the human body and what types of activities are best for exploring this area of learning. Obviously, any time your child has questions about their body, you should answer them honestly, but I have a sneaky suspicion that all of these questions are popping up because it’s so close to Halloween – kids are seeing skeletons and eyeballs and pretend severed limbs and fake blood and all kinds of silly stuff that makes them wonder what actually is happening inside their bodies! Yay for child-led learning, right!? 😂
Well, as you may or may not know, an entire theme of study in my A Child’s World First Grade Curriculum is devoted to MY BODY! So I pulled a few of my son’s favorite activities out of the theme and put together a week of plans that will give you a “My Body Mini Unit” to taste the waters of how amazing this curriculum is!
Now, if you don’t have a first grader at home, that’s totally ok. I still recommend downloading this sample and seeing how you could adapt the activities for your younger or older kids to explore and learn. You’d be amazed how much they can still pick up from these ideas!
This is definitely one to make sure you share with friends, by the way! Chances are your kids aren’t the only ones curious about their bodies right now, so hit those share buttons and spread the freebie love!
